The previous R8 GT was around 100 kilograms lighter and packed a bit more power, and the new R8 GT will likely follow in those footstep. Power will reportedly remain around the 610 horsepower mark, but hopefully ditching the AWD system can significantly lower the R8’s rather porky 1,780-kilogram curb weight.Rear-drive versions of all-wheel-drive supercars are hardly new. In fact, the R8’s closely related stablemates, the Lamborghini Huracan and Gallardo, both included rear-driven variants, where front-driven wheels were eschewed for less weight and better steering feel. ‹ Previous Next ›last_img read more
