Purpose of the Post:To operate, monitor, develop and ensure quality delivery of operations and services within the Communications, Sales and Marketing and Account Management areas and contribute engagement responsibilitiesOverall responsibility for Communications, Sales and Marketing and Account Management functions and all associated outsourced activitiesSet and achieve challenging team general communications activity across a variety of stakeholder audiences, to promote Motor Codes to consumers and the motor industry while delivering against annual business plans and objectivesTo work with the Marketing Manager to develop, plan Motor Codes’ marketing activity, to be deployed nationally, drive consumer awareness of the Motor Codes brandTo work collaboratively with the SMMT to reflect the best interests of the UK motor industry through Motor Codes approved Codes of PracticeSpecifically:Develop and implement effective PR, communications and marketing strategies to promote Motor Codes to the consumer, trade and press, measurably demonstrating growing relevance and value.Develop, promote and protect the image and reputation of Motor Codes as an established brand within the motor industry and consumer landscape.To work with the Marketing Manager to manage all promotional activities, develop key messages and activity plans to deliver the appropriate profile for Motor Codes and oversee production of all public and trade facing marketing materials and advertising opportunitiesTo oversee the development of social media channels and direct/operate and advise on all Motor Codes social media activity.Source and manage relationships with industry partners, extending the reach of the Motor Codes garage finder and online reviews community as well as exploiting endorsement and sponsorship opportunities.Oversee and deliver an efficient Motor Codes press office and media service.Ensure all written and visual material produced by Motor Codes is in line with the brand’s corporate identity.Oversee, manage and develop the content and appearance of www.motorcodes.co.ukRepresent and promote Motor Codes at events, exhibitions and industry committees as appropriate.Sales and Marketing and Account Management TeamTo oversee Sales and Marketing and Account Managers to ensure delivery of business planned operational activity for the following activities:New subscriber acquisition strategy and activitiesSales and network marketing plans and developmentSubscriber retention and engagement activitiesLeadership team responsibilitiesStrategic development, business planning and delivery of business objectivesDevelop standard mechanisms to review business operational/financial performanceEstablish standard qualitative measures for current business activities and new projectsEstablish standard mechanisms for monitoring and improving MC customer serviceDevelop review mechanisms to ensure outsourced services are delivered to contract and expectationsCreate new initiatives, project plans and targetsEmbed, successfully sustain and develop new initiativesMonitor and support individual staff performance within the SMMT Group PDR President gives condolences on passing of Justice Mohamed Shahabuddeen

President David Granger, has extended condolences to the family and loved ones of the Justice Mohamed Shahahbuddeen following his passing.Justice Mohamed ShahahbuddeenJustice Mohamed Shahabuddeen, according to a release from the Ministry of the Presidency, will be remembered for his distinguished service as an eminent Judge of the International Court of Justice, lawyer, public servant, politician and diplomat.He was born on October 7, 1931. In 1953 he graduated for the University of London with a Bachelor of Law Degree. In 1958 he earned his Master of Law, in 1970 he earned his Doctor of Philosophy and in 1986 the title of Doctor of Law.Justice Mohamed Shahabuddeen began his public service as a Magistrate before joining the Chamber of the Attorney General in 1959.In 1962 he was appointed Solicitor General, a post he held with distinction until 1973 when he was elevated to the position of Attorney General, serving in that capacity from 1978 to 1987. In 1983 he was appointed Deputy Prime Minister and Vice President of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana.From 1988 to 1997 he served as a Judge of the International Court of Justice in The Hague. Subsequently, he was Judge and twice Vice President of the Yugoslavia Tribunal until 2009. In addition, he has been an Arbiter in the International Criminal Court, also in The Hague since 1997, and the Centre for International Arbitration in Cairo.In January 2009 he was chosen as a Judge of the International Criminal Court.Justice Mohamed Shahabuddeen authored several books, including ‘The Legal System of Guyana’ (Georgetown, 1973); ‘Constitutional Development in Guyana, 1621-1978’ (Georgetown, 1978); ‘Nationalisation of Guyana Bauxite’ (1981) and ‘From Plantocracy to Nationalisation’ (1983).In recognition of the distinction and eminence achieved by him in the service of Guyana at the regional and international levels and in the fields of law, diplomacy and politics, he was awarded by the Government of Guyana the Order of Excellence in 1988, the Order of Roraima in 1980 and the Cacique’s Crown of Honour in 1970.
