Shock Absorbers: 2-inch lift kit now available for Jeep’s Wrangler 4xe

first_imgFurthering attempts to make plug-in hybrid vehicles palatable to the off-road crowd, Jeep has introduced a two-inch lift kit specifically engineered and tuned for the new Wrangler 4xe.Priced at $2,310, the kit includes four springs and four FOX-branded shocks. Also in the kit are front lower control arms, front and rear stabilizer links, front and rear bump stops, plus all the various and sundry fasteners to complete installation. As a bonus, the works of it is packaged in a custom wooden crate complete with the “JPP” logo that’ll look baller on display in your garage. For those of you who slept through class, the new Jeep Wrangler 4xe delivers up to 35 kilometres of nearly silent electric-only propulsion, making it a realistic all-electric daily driver without introducing range anxiety to the equation. Its hybrid powertrain pairs the brand’s 2.0L turbo four-banger with a couple of electric motors, a 17-kWh battery pack, and the familiar TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission. RELATED SUV Review: 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited 4xe RubiconPower is nothing to sneeze at, listed at 350 ponies and almost 450 lb-ft of twist. Given the electrified nature of its drivetrain, most of that torque is available at or near idle speeds, making the 4xe a theoretical slam-dunk for technical off-roading duties.Offering accessories like this right from the factory is a shrewd move, one that Jeep has embraced with open arms. After all, these types of items are often laden with profit; by selling them at dealer level, Jeep stands a better chance of clawing some of the money that would normally be spent in the aftermarket.2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4xe Jeep The Rolls-Royce Boat Tail may be the most expensive new car ever RELATED TAGSJeepWranglerSUVNon-LuxuryElectric CarsElectric VehiclesHybridsNew VehicleselectrifiedliftNon-LuxuryOff-RoadPHEVplug-in hybrid COMMENTSSHARE YOUR THOUGHTS PlayThe Rolls-Royce Boat Tail may be the most expensive new car everPlay3 common new car problems (and how to prevent them) | Maintenance Advice | Driving.caPlayFinal 5 Minivan Contenders | Driving.caPlay2021 Volvo XC90 Recharge | Ministry of Interior Affairs | Driving.caPlayThe 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning is a new take on Canada’s fave truck | Driving.caPlayBuying a used Toyota Tundra? Most of these accessories can be rolled into the note on a new Wrangler, increasing the model’s average transaction price. The latter is often a metric considered by Wall Street types when evaluating the overall health of a brand. Jeep claims this accessory is an industry original and, save for a hacked-up Prius plopped on top of an old Blazer chassis, it’s safe to say this is the first lift kit available for a plug-in hybrid vehicle. Given the onslaught of rugged plug-ins and pure electrics coming down the pipe from a variety companies (Hummer EV, Rivian R1T, F-150 EV — to name just a few) it likely won’t be the last.
